We both drifted into a dreamlike nap for a little bit. I don’t know how long it was, but I woke with Declan’s lips on my shoulder, kissing his way along my neck.

Letting down my walls even a little bit had been inevitable with him. He was always pushing my buttons and doing his best to get me to lighten up. Being free for a while…the feelings he brought out in me completely blindsided me. It was like the air was being squeezed out of my lungs as the shaking, throbbing pleasure raced through my body.

There had never been a doubt in my mind that Declan would be good in bed. But this all-consuming, mind-shattering rapture threatened to consume me whole. It was too much, but at the same time I wanted more. So much more. It was beyond anything I’d experienced before and would probably experience again.

He had way too many women fawning over him not to be a sex god, but when he was with me, I couldn’t even be jealous. I was thankful for all the practice he’d had because it meant I was ready to wake up everyone in the apartment complex when he changed angles and tempo and my orgasm crashed into me so hard I wished I could live in that space on the edge of a painful pleasure that exploded through every cell in my body.

Stars twinkled in front of my eyes. Actual stars as my vision blinked out, even though I knew I still had my eyes open. I sank my nails into his back and screamed, hoping I hadn’t made him deaf. My body shuddered and trembled. I tried to catch my breath, but he kept going.

Like a machine determined to wring every last bit of pleasure out of me, Declan thrust his hips with such precision it was like he’d found the instructions to my vagina and was working his way through the manual so no step was missed. The trembling was back even stronger, and the lights were so much brighter even with my eyes closed. Like a dam bursting, I dug my fingers into his back and screamed into his shoulder with a voice I didn’t even recognize. Holding on to him, I bit down on his shoulder, and my eyes rolled back in my head.

His pace never slowed, so hard and fast that he kept me suspended in a body-shuddering, can’t-remember-my-name place, where his body was the only thing that existed, and my body tried to keep up with his ministrations.

“Declan.” I breathed his name into his ear as I held on for dear life. And then all the muscles in his body tightened like that was what he’d been waiting for, and he groaned, called out my name, and collapsed on top of me. With my arms still wrapped around him, I breathed him in as his weight settled over me like a warm blanket in the middle of winter.

I ran my fingers through his hair as we both panted, trying to catch our breath.
